Artist, Writer, and Nature Lover
Renée DeVincent is a children's author, illustrator, and creator of WildDays, where she shares nature-inspired stories, activities, and creative learning resources for kids.
Born on an Army base in Savannah, Georgia, Renée grew up in a military family where frequent moves made books, art, and storytelling a constant source of comfort and imagination.
Renée holds a Master of Education degree in Counseling and has spent more than 15 years working in mental health and human services. Combined with her background in graphic design and illustration, these experiences continue to shape her approach to creating developmentally appropriate stories, activities, and learning experiences that nurture curiosity, creativity, and a connection to the natural world.
Reading with her daughters inspired her debut picture book, Twiggy and the Lost Socks. Through her rhyming stories, colorful illustrations, and hands-on activities, Renée hopes to help children explore the world right outside their door.
She lives in Kansas with her husband of 30 years, their children, and a lively collection of animals. When she's not writing or illustrating, she enjoys gardening, wildlife watching, and finding inspiration in everyday moments outdoors.
